Spalding Gray: The Perfect Moment

I'm presently re-reading the late Spalding Gray's magnificent Swimming To Cambodia, one of the few books that can be read in two or three page bursts without losing anything. This video is from Jonathan Demme's film of Gray's performance piece, both also called Swimming To Cambodia.

I'll set the scene for you:

40 year old man-child Spalding has just spent a few months acting in the movie The Killing Fields and is about to finish and return home to the USA.

He wants to do a bit of travelling, at least until he has a "perfect moment" but his biological-clock-ticking girlfriend, Renee wants him to grow up, return home and marry her.
