The project that I'm caught up in may take another month to finish, so posts will still be sporadic. Nevertheless - true confessions - I'm still finding time to take an unhealthy interest in American politics.

One of the more obscure happenings this week was Republican House Minority Leader John "Tan Boy" Boehner, saying to bankers  whose excessive activities may soon be curtailed by the Obama White House:

"Don’t let those little punk staffers take advantage of you..."

Over at Paul Krugman's blog, it prompted comment #28:

Reminds me of something a Merrill Lynch guy told me in the midst of his firm's  meltdown:
 

'Some bureaucrat punk from Treasury who makes a hundred thou a year is gonna come in here and tell us what to do????'
